ERIE, PA – It’s just 10 days until the Visiting Nurse Association of Erie County’s 10th annual Wings of Hope Memorial Butterfly Release. It will be held at 1pm in Perry Square on Sunday August 3rd. The agency’s signature event is both a moving memorial service and its largest fundraiser of the year.
The hour long event for the VNA Hospice program features a memorial service with reading of names of loved ones and features local tenor Daniel Cabanillas performing several songs as well. At the end of the event donors can release their Monarch Butterflies. 500 will be released. The butterflies are available for a $25 donation. Register at ErieVNA.org or by calling 454-2831. You do not need to attend to participate.
“It’s starting to come together,” Said Dan Desrochers, Director of Development at the VNA. “But we still have lots of butterflies available for this terrific event that supports our 100+ year old non-profit.”
Since 1906, the mission of VNA of Erie County is to provide quality, cost effective home health care and hospice services to residents of Erie County, Regardless of the ability to pay.
