‘Wings of Hope’
Memorial Butterfly Release
Sunday 1pm at the Porreco College
ERIE, PA – This Sunday at 1pm at the Porreco College the Visiting Nurse Association of Erie County will hold its 11th annual Wings of Hope Memorial Butterfly Release. The agency’s signature event is both a moving memorial service and its largest fundraiser of the year. Proceeds benefit VNA Hospice services in Erie County. The butterflies themselves should be flying between 1:45 and 2pm.
500 Monarch Butterflies will be released at the end of this moving, hour long memorial service. Former U.S. Congressman Phil English is the keynote speaker and local favorite Daniel Cabanillas will sing several moving songs. The event is free and open to the public & butterflies will be available for a $25 donation. Bring chairs as this event is held in Porreco College’s green space.
